The picture is old and faded, the color has yellowed but the memories of him never will. Mo was the first Sheltie that my family had, no he wasn't a show dog or an obedience performer but he is the reason this breed has taken a hold of my family. He had true sheltie character, he was loyal, devoted and smart. He was a dog that was almost human he worried when you worried, he was sad when you were sad and happy that you were happy. He lived to please his master and his world revolved around his master.  He watched over our family for 12 years until the angels came to take him to Rainbow's Bridge where he waits for his master, then he will watch over her for eternity.

Shelties never die they gain their wings and fly to a place better then this Earth. We will meet again later in this better place and live together forever.

There are many stories that I could tell you about Mo but there are two that I will share about him that will give you great insight into him and the people whose lives he touched.

We purchased Mo when he was 1 1/2 years old, the lady we purchased him from screened potential people that Mo would go to live with. When she was done and she made her choice that Mo would come to live with our family we went to pick him up and the lady was very sad to see him go. Well just how upset was proven the next day when she showed up at our house crying to have him back, she was as thou she had given up her baby. In the end we decided if she was so upset that she should have him back and that we would find another sheltie. The story doesn't end there thou 6 month's later this lady had given birth to twins and found herself unable to devote the time to Mo so we got a call to see if we had gotten another dog up to that point, and as luck would have it we didn't. So in the end Mo did come to live with us but how special he was to the people whose lives he touched was shown to us from the first day we encountered him.

The next story starts at the end of Mo's life, which I am sure will seem really odd. I came home from being out with my friends. When I unlock the door I thought I saw a dog poke their head around the corner to check to see who was coming in. It was dark and at this time we had gotten another sheltie Gabby. So my first thought was she has really taken Mo's place because when we came home Mo would check to make sure it was one of us. When he determined everything was ok he would head back to his spot not making a sound. Well the whole time I watched this dog go back down the hallway I could not shake how much it was like Mo. So I went in to check on Gabby, there she was sound sleep how could this be it was only a matter of seconds. Well to this day I still think I saw him. He was checking to see who was coming in the door as he did for 12 yrs, he saw it was me and I watched him walk back in the hallway and back to bed. Since then I always had the feeling he is still with us, watching over us as he did all his life.
